David Anderson Workshop

On the 28th July we welcomed our friend and top industry professional David Anderson to our studio, where he taught a fun, full on commercial routine to Beyonce’s ‘Upgrade You’. The routine was fast but a really good challenge where everyone was able to find their inner ‘Beyonce’. David is highly regarded in the dance industry with his work including, working in Performers College and Evolution Dance College. He has also worked with Rihanna, Jay-Z, One Direction and Olly Murs, among many others. The 2 hour workshop was fab and everyone came away with inspiration and motivation. A massive thank you to David and we look forward to having you with us once again!

Haymarket Show 2024

After finally coming down after the show I can honestly say what an amazing show it was! All the hard work of putting it together, choreographing, costumes, teaching everyone has all been worth it. So proud of each and every one of the dancers that took part. We have had great feedback and just so incredibly proud of how hard you all worked! Thank you to all our teachers for all your dedication and hard work to help us get through it. It’s been a crazy busy year and can’t wait to see what September onwards holds for us all. Keely Colborne we did it again and we make a great team and keep getting stronger! Love to you all. Enjoy your summer everyone.

Teacher Congress Blackpool

What another great year at our Annual Teacher Congress weekend in Blackpool.

Motown night, Lecture Day, Dinner Dance, AGM and catching up with friends from all over England and Overseas within the IDTA.

Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend learning new choreo and ideas of fellow lecturers and members of the IDTA and social evenings with fancy dress one night and dressing up in our finest for the next night.

Now to recover. Until next year Congress.

The next day was the seminar which was so lovely to see so many students and principals from all over.

It was an honour to be asked to lecture again and I thoroughly enjoyed teaching regardless of the 100 degree heat. All the students were fantastic.

It was a great fun weekend so thank you to the freestyle faculty for providing everyone with the opportunity to learn and running the scholarships. Xx

Freestyle Qualifiers Guildford 5th May 2024

Our Fusion Dance Academies madness filled May was a brand new

Freestyle team attending the IDTA SE Freestyle Competition.

Stacey and Sam took a team of 10 RN and fusion dancers to compete in solos, pairs, duos, team and rock n roll and although an eye opener for them in contrast to the street, they all went out fearless and held their own in an extremely hard competition.

Team XLR8 successfully placed first, alongside

Danell Purdue placing 4th in fast, 3rd in slow, 3rd in pairs with Jess Hetherington and 4th in rock n roll.

Kiki Quirk qualified in both fast and slow.

Emily McGuinnity qualified in slow, pairs with Maizy Baber and rock n roll with Danell.

Jess Soul and Megan Searle qualified for pairs.

Well done to all other team members… Tilly Whyman, Bella Kingshott, Zofia Stepien and Rachel Karlsson.

Blood, sweat and tears but an awful lot of fun and laughter training for it to what is now a dance weekend trip to Blackpool in November.

A massive well done to the whole team for smashing the results and although a scary experience at first you all became more and more confident and we just loved watching you all together.

Love to you all. Xxx
