Wow, wow, wow, what can we say... such amazing results from the online IDTA scholarships... a massive well done to George Hardey who placed 3rd place in Freestyle class C and then 3rd place again in Street class B and Chloe Cooles placing 4th in street class B. A great achievement once again and so so proud of you both...you smashed it.
So immensely proud of everyone of our team who placed in the semi finals... Emily McGuinnity, Georgina Ralph, Hollie Savage and to Jinny Leybourne and Freya Lee.
To all of our nominations whether you were able to participate or not in both Freestyle and Street categories...you will forever make us proud as you continue to achieve above and beyond and take challenges on head first..to the FDA crew here’s to the next adventure and we thank you. After a fun two days of summer workshops we were delighted to welcome one of our very own Ben Anderson to come back and teach commercial for our students after graduating from Bird College. We are so grateful to have you come visit and teach for us and sooo proud of what you have achieved.
We cannot wait to follow you on your journey with love and support always. You are always welcome to come teach and we will always welcome you back home.

After a tough year for everyone and many weeks of teaching via zoom, we hosted our first set of face to face examinations. Following guidelines from the government as well as the I.D.T.A (our governing body) we were able to put in over 100 dance exams across 2 days in all styles available.
Students were more than ready with an achievement of 100% pass rate from 83% to 98% once again. The dedication, commitment and support of all students and family were evident with the grades and we were pleased to be able to offer the exams after all the hard work completed online.
We were also pleased to see Louise Usher, successfully pass her Street Licentiate professional exam with 95% distinction. Also to receive street scholarship nominations once again for 2022.
Thank you to the examiner who made the day more enjoyable by being so professional and friendly. We are now currently working towards our December exams whilst we are finally back in the studios together again.
As 2020, took a turn for the worst in March and we were forced to close our doors for up to 6 months, the IDTA gave our students and school a chance to be productive and motivated by offering a global lockdown festival in all genres of dance, across the world. With all sessions turning to online ZOOM sessions, we asked some of our students if they would be interested in participating in the street and freestyle sections. 2 students Danell Purdue and Emily Diggens, entered into the slow freestyle category. 9 students took part in the street category. All of whom made it to the semi-finals. Rachel Karlsson and Emily Mcguinnity were entered in the under 12s; Chloe Cooles, Danell Purdue, Jinny Leybourne, Libby Godber, were entered in the 13-16 years; Freya Lee and Gina Ralph were entered in the adult section. When results for the final were published we were pleased to announce that over all genres, where there were 1700 applicants from 9 different countries, Fusion Dance Academies walked away with Freya Lee placing 5th in the Adults and Chloe Cooles becoming Global lockdown champion of the 13-16years and Gina Ralph becoming Global lockdown champion in the adult category. A massive achievement from a great opportunity provided by the IDTA, to allow our students something to work towards with outstanding results. We as always are very proud of all the entries and the creativity behind the task. Fusion dance academies students rock!!
Once again we managed to host two sets of exams from September ’18 to July ’19 in both Basingstoke and Aldershot achieving 100% pass rate with grades from 83% to 98% across all styles.
For the Aldershot exams this June we received notification of 7 nominees for the brand new Street Scholarships starting in 2020.

17th of November 2019/ 1st of March 2020 Like every year, 28 members of the Remain Nameless travelled to Chessington to compete in the South East Area Street competition in a bid to win a place representing the South East up at the Nationals in March 2020. A bright and early start commenced with the solos, of which many qualified and then followed by pairs, again with many qualifying for nationals. Next up was teams, XLR8 came third in a tough mixed age category and Remain Nameless came first in the 14-17 years category and earned their place not only as regional champions but representing down south at Nationwide. The quads again were momentous in their qualifying positions and see the team making their way up to compete in Stoke in March 2020. STOKE MARCH 2020: Like with every year the crew drove up to Stoke the night before to be able to compete in the Street Nationals competition and went onto secure numerous trophies in all categories. Solos: Many made it to semi finals with Hollie Savage placing 6th place in the over 18s; George hardey placing 6th in the 14-17yrs and Samuel Terry becoming National Champion in the 14-17yr category. Duos: Again a few made it to semi-finals but Maizy Baber and Keira Hopkins came 5th in the 12 and under category; Quads: Hollie Savage, Ashleigh Knight, Leigh Dootson and Daria Cooke placed 4th in the over 18s category. Keira Hopkins, Emily Mcguinnity, Maizy Baber and Jessie Hetherington came 3rd in the 12 and under category. Molly Knight, Emily Burr, Samuel Terry and Alisha Bryan came 4th in the 13-17years category. Team: Remain Nameless became National Champion 2020 in the 14-17 year category. BOOM!! As with all competitions it is tough and sometimes long and overwhelming day, however no matter the outcome we are forever proud of how each and every student do and continue to move onwards and upwards.
