I.D.T.A South East Area AGM

On the 24th of September 2023, a team of our teachers and students attended the I.D.T.A South East Area AGM and lecture day at Addlestone Community Centre. The day was full of an array of styles including Burlesque, Latin American, Ballroom, Salsa, Classical Sequence and a Hip Hop lecture provided by one of our very own colleagues, Chelsea Morris.

Even though it was Chelsea’s first time lecturing at an I.D.T.A event, she delivered the work to a full floor with ease and vibrance and captivated the floor with her enthusiasm and talent. A very well received lecture, as with all the others of the day that were also taught to a full floor which was lovely to see throughout the day.

We thank the I.D.T.A South East for a wonderful day. It was lovely to catch up with everyone and see James Montgomery in as Chairman and our very own Keely making her way back onto the committee for the 9th year.

Freestyle and Street Scholarships 2023

What a fantastic start to the new term. These 4 attended the IDTA International Dance Teachers Association scholarship weekend and were incredible throughout the whole of the freestyle and the street. Danell Purdue walked away with 6th place for her freestyle category and Emily McGuinnity placed 4th in her street category. Danell, Jacob Russell and Jess Sol also made it through to semi finals in an extremley tough over 16 street category. The standard was amazing and a tough call. But throughout the day the choreography was amazing and the guys for Fusion Dance Academies definitely held their own. Stacey and I are so proud of you all and thank you for committing to what I believe is one of the best set days for the IDTA xx Onwards and upwards people!

Haymarket Show July 2023

Wow what can I say but it’s taken almost a week to recover from what was another fantastic performance from our wonderful dance family - Fusion Dance Academies. Stacey and I are truly grateful to all the students who work tirelessly on their own performance to showcase all the work combined and dedicate their time in us as a dance school.

To the parents and family who continue to support us all as team and become cheerleaders.

To all the chaperones who offer their time to come and help us out backstage… not the easiest of jobs, to those that help with the costumes…. and those who teach for us and choreograph on the weekly. We thank you for your help in keeping Stacey and I sane. We are so proud of every student within our dance school and watching the talent grow each year is phenomenal. As always there are some goodbyes to students who have been with us for over a decade… we wish you all the best for your future and will always be right behind you… so proud of what you have worked for to achieve and look forward to seeing all your success stories… forever and always. Now have a wonderful summer everyone with all your families and friends and looking forward to what September brings us all.

Congress 2023

IDTA South East Area Dinner Dance Performance

What can we say apart from we are so unbelievably proud of each and everyone of you from RN that represented Fusion Dance Academies on Saturday night at the IDTA South East - Ballroom dinner dance in Liphook.

With all the things you have going on on the weekly you really shone on that dance floor after being asked by the committee to be a part of their cabaret. After the London seminar back in 2020 to be back on the dance floor performing in front of many faces of the IDTA once again is not only an honour and a privilege but also you guys as a team earn it on a daily. You work so hard and tirelessly and we are very proud of each and everyone of you.

Thanks to Kim Hunton Laura Moreta and Alina Stepien for giving up your time to help and chaperone for us. We are very appreciative of the constant support and thank the committee for having us perform for you…. Lots of love to you all. Xx
